Mother ‘suffocated her three babies’

A MOTHER felt compelled to act against nature and instinct and suffocate three of her babies, a court heard yesterday.

Trupti Patel, 35, killed her two sons and daughter by either squeezing their chests until they could no longer breathe, or smothered their faces so they could not inhale, Reading Crown Court in England was told.

Mrs Patel, a qualified pharmacist who was married and living in Beverley Gardens, Maidenhead, Berkshire, at the time the three babies died, intended to "kill or cause really serious bodily harm", the jury heard.
