22 dead in China crash

A BUS in southern China carrying a group celebrating International Women’s Day ran off a cliff yesterday, killing at least 22 people and injuring 22 others.

Forty-four people were aboard the bus travelling along a narrow road near the city of Jiujiang in Jiangxi province when the accident happened. The passengers were from a local insurance firm who were celebrating Tuesday’s International Women’s Day. More than 107,000 people were killed in road accidents in China last year.
