Police raid house for gunman

A special unit of Italy’s Carabinieri paramilitary police entered the home in the town of Bogogno shortly after midnight, some nine-and-a-half hours after the man holed up there, spraying gunfire at passing cars and police, said Carabinieri in nearby Novara.

Reports said the gunman, identified as Angelo Sacco, was in debt and afraid authorities would take possession of his home.
