Ill-fated Millennium Dome gets redevelopment go-ahead

PLANNING permission for the development of the ill-fated Millennium Dome and the land around it has finally been given, it was announced yesterday.

But work on the site in Greenwich, south London, will not start before spring 2005.

Meanwhile, British taxpayers, who have already forked out around £30 million (€45m) to maintain the closed attraction, face a further maintenance bill.
