Batman star Holmes loving being in love with Cruise
The 26-year-old has been dating the Top Gun actor for just six weeks, but at the European premiere of Batman Begins she waxed lyrical about their epic love affair.
“Being in love with Tom is so exhilarating. He’s amazing and I love him very, very much,” she said.
The Dawson’s Creek actress said the couple have no immediate plans to tie the knot.
“At the moment we are both just loving being in love,” she said.
But asked how she felt about the prospects of marriage, she blushed: “That makes me smile just thinking about it.”
Cruise is legendary for his mammoth walkabouts at film premieres. And it seems the actor has taught his girlfriend well - Holmes spent an hour signing autographs.
Cruise is in Japan for the world premiere The War of the Worlds. And Holmes revealed she will join him on the red carpet when he brings the sci-fi film to London next Sunday.
Batman Begins is a prequel to the first four films and explains how Bruce Wayne became the Caped Crusader.
British actor Christian Bale has taken over the role previously played by Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney.
Michael Caine co-stars as Wayne’s faithful butler Albert and Holmes plays Wayne’s childhood friend Rachel Dawes.
Irish actors Liam Neeson and Cilian Murphy also star in the film.
Bale, who found fame as a child star in Empire of the Sun, admitted: “I’ve never been a fan of Batman and I wasn’t really a fan of the other movies.
“But this film takes the story back to its origins.”
Stars at the premiere included Caine and wife Shakira, Morgan Freeman and Val Kilmer.
The film opens nationwide on June 16.
