Fall in non-EU exports

WHILE exports to non-EU countries fell in the 11 months to the end of November, the medical and pharmaceutical sectors bucked the trend Ireland’s imports from non-EU countries fell by 7% to €17.48bn from €18.83bn for the corresponding period of 2001.

However, exports far outstrip imports to non-EU countries and fell by just 3% in the 11-onth period, from €32bn to €30.98bn.

Figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show Ireland’s November 2002 exports to non-EU countries decreased to €2,575m when compared with the October figure of €2,708m while imports increased marginally to €1,444m from €1,432m.
