Relatives of dead to fight on

RELATIVES of 155 skiers and snowboarders killed in an Austrian cable car fire in November 2000 will press on with civil lawsuits seeking damages despite a setback in a US court, a lawyer representing the families said.

Last week’s ruling by the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan, which rejected the idea of class action status and a single liability trial for the victims’ families, did not deprive relatives of other ways to seek compensation, lawyer Ed Fagan said.
