‘Millionaire’ major faces insurance dishonesty charges

The British Army major who was found guilty of planning an elaborate fraud against the makers of TV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? was remanded on bail yesterday, accused of dishonest dealings with two insurance companies.

‘Millionaire’ major faces insurance dishonesty charges

Charles Ingram, 39, of Easterton, Wiltshire, appeared before Salisbury Crown Court to face two charges of dishonesty.

He is accused in the first count of obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception between June 8, 1997, and August 1, 1997. The charge alleges that Ingram obtained an insurance policy with Zurich Municipal by lying about his insurance history in his application.
