Two of those held live in Adora, a Jewish settlement in the West Bank and their arrests shocked the small community. Adora was the scene of a Palestinian attack in May that killed four people, including a five-year-old girl.
The Adora residents are Roi Amar, a soldier, and Oded Mulai, a civilian.
Amar’s brother Sela, also a soldier, was held but freed on a legal technicality.
Kleiman said the men were suspected of selling military ordnance to “terrorists.” Newspaper reports said they stole crates of rifle ammunition from army stores and sold them over the past three years.
