Israel captures top Hezbollah bomb-maker in ship seizure

THE Israeli navy intercepted a boat heading to the Gaza Strip, seizing a senior Hezbollah explosives expert, manuals for suicide bombers and a radio activation system for remote-control bombs, the military said last night.

Officials said the Palestinian Authority was behind the shipment and that its aim was to set up a “bomb school” in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said it was the third such smuggling attempt by officials linked to Yasser Arafat, but offered no direct evidence of Palestinian Authority involvement.
