Abused child died of hypothermia, inquiry rules, as social worker fined

CHILD abuse victim Victoria Climbie died of hypothermia after being kept naked and bound in a freezing bathroom, an inquiry into her death established.

The eight-year-old, who had been sent to Europe from her home on the Ivory Coast to get a better education, died in February 2000 with 128 injuries to her body.

She had been starved and beaten with coathangers and bicycle chains.
