Gardaí on parade in drinking crackdown

LINES of gardaí barred the entrance to St Stephen’s Green yesterday afternoon forcing St Patrick’s Day revellers to queue to get in to the public park.

Many were questioned about who they were and what were they up to.

Every teenager in particular, was a suspect. Most were searched and their bags checked. Some were simply told they were “barred” from the park.
