Vienna rocks

GOOSE bumps were on parade at Vienna City Hall as thousands of revellers — some wearing nothing but glitter — braved icy driving rain in a fest that rocked into the early hours yesterday.

First held 12 years ago, the annual Life Ball is now among the largest and most colourful charity galas in the world dedicated to raising funds to fight AIDS. As in 2003, the gala was headlined by Elton John.
