Chinese company to build world’s tallest

TWO Chinese companies have been awarded bids worth €400 million to build the world’s tallest skyscraper in Shanghai, an official newspaper reported today.

The planned 101-story Shanghai World Financial Center is to rise 492 metres, 20 metres higher than the 512-metre Taipei 101 in Taiwan - named just last week as the world’s tallest skyscraper.
