Englishman admits cannibalism

A MAN detained for the murder of his British girlfriend in Spain has admitted eating parts of her body.

Englishman admits cannibalism

Armed robber Paul Durant wrote to the Daily Mirror from his prison cell on the Costa Blanca, saying he cut up Karen Durrell and ate some of her remains.

He then disposed of what was left in bin bags around the town of Calpe where she lived, the letter said.

Durant, 44, who was arrested in February, wrote: “after I killed her I cut her body into small parts, eating what part of her I found eatable.”

He believed God had delivered her to him “and I was getting messages from the telly.” He added: “I believe she knew she had to die. I know I badly need help.”

Durant, said to be a heroin addict, fled to Spain after getting away from police in London last December.

The east Londoner made his way to Spain where he befriended the 41-year-old divorced mother of two and her lover, Miles Lanning.
