Car breath test trial launched

A DASHBOARD breathalyser that could help drink-drive offenders reclaim their licence quicker was shown off by the British government yesterday.

Media representatives tried out the device in south London yesterday.

Already in use in the US, Canada and Sweden, the Canadian-manufactured alcohol lock system will now be trialled among convicted drink-drive volunteers in Britain, in an 18-month pilot scheme.
