Six Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza battle

For more than 12 hours, explosions and machine gun fire from tanks and helicopters were heard across Gaza City.

Arab television stations in Lebanon and the website of the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot reported that six Israeli soldiers were killed.
