Villagers flee eruption

SEISMOLOGISTS are monitoring a volcano on an eastern Indonesian island after it erupted, forcing villagers to flee.

Mount Egon on Flores island was quiet yesterday following Wednesday’s eruption. About 350 villagers have left their homes and remain in the closest town. Mount Egon is among more than 100 active volcanoes in Indonesia.
