Police killings unveiled

TWO police officers suspected of shooting 30 people last week have been positively identified by witnesses, and hundreds of federal police officers were expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro this week to secure the region as authorities search for two other suspects believed to be involved in the attacks, officials said.

Police officers Fabiano Goncalves Lopes and Jose Augusto Moreira Felipe, who were arrested on Saturday at their home, were seen near the area of drive-by shootings that left 30 people dead near the city’s north side, officials said yesterday, citing testimony by witnesses.
