HEWLETT PACKARD is to hold crunch talks with the Irish Bank Officials Association on Monday over the transfer of 320 workers from Bank of Ireland to its IT outsourcing division.

After 12 hours of talks yesterday, the IBOA and Bank of Ireland had failed to reach agreement on the €600m transfer of the bank’s computer division to the US multinational.

Sources close to the talks said the one-day strike, due for Wednesday, was likely to go ahead unless HP make significant commitments to the workers involved in the transfer.
