Reward for pro-recycling councils

LOCAL councils with the best record for recycling will get the largest share of the €55 million environment fund announced yesterday.

Announcing the fund, Environment Minister Martin Cullen warned all local authorities to intensify their efforts on recycling because unprecedented funds are available:

“Those that are driving the environmental agenda will be rewarded, those that are not will go to the back of the queue.”
