TURKISH troops killed 11 Kurdish rebels in south-eastern Turkey in the biggest offensive against autonomy-seeking rebels over the past five years.

Two soldiers were also killed in the clashes in the southeastern Hakkari province.

The offensive comes after the rebels intensified attacks in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish southeast since calling off a five-year unilateral cease-fire on June 1.
