Global charity cycle completed

BRITISH cyclist yesterday completed a gruelling global bike ride in aid of charity.

Phil White, 24, has peddled more than 18,000 miles and hopes his mammoth effort will earn him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

The fundraiser was greeted at the finish line in Trafalgar Square, central London by family friend, singer Cliff Richard.

Mr White set off from the same spot in Trafalgar Square on June 19 last year. He raised £67,000 for Oxfam.

He has spent more than 1,300 hours in the saddle and on one day alone rode more than 150 miles.
