Manufacturing continues to decline

FACTORY gate prices have fallen by 7.5% year-on-year, yet inflation remains at 4.3% as Irish manufacturing order books continue to decline.

The Central Statistics Office’s wholesale price index increased by 0.1% in April 2003, bringing the overall Manufacturing Output Price Index to 95.0. Year-on-year the index fell by 7.5%.

The index for export sales remained unchanged as the home sales index increased by 0.1% in the month.
