Idi Amin comes out of coma

FORMER dictator Idi Amin, who was accused of ordering the murder of tens of thousands of Ugandans in the 1970s, is out of a coma in a Saudi hospital but still in serious condition, doctors said yesterday.

“He came out of coma Wednesday and is no longer using an artificial respirator. But he’s still in intensive care and his condition is still serious,” said a source at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah.

The hospital had said Amin might not survive after he went into a coma last week.
