AFP to sue Google for $17.5m

AGENCE France Presse is to sue search engine Google for their use of AFP news, images and headlines without permission.

The French news company is seeking $17.5 million (€13m) in damages. The suit was filed last Thursday in Washington. AFP sells subscriptions to its content and does not provide it free. Google News gathers photos and news stories from around the web and posts them on its free access news site.
