Police widow visits site of stabbing

THE widow and family of the British Special Branch officer stabbed to death during a police counter-terrorism raid visited the spot yesterday where he was killed.

Lesley Oake, 40, spent 20 minutes outside the flat in Crumpsall, north Manchester, reading the tributes left to her husband, Stephen, and talking to his former colleagues.

The officer's children, Rebecca, 14, Corinne, 12, and Christopher, 15, were all in tears as they added their own flowers to the growing number of bouquets.
