Irish soldiers still haunted by Longest Day

IRISH soldiers who fought in D-Day are still haunted by memories of their friends and colleagues who died during Europe’s biggest ever conflict.

In a special documentary for the 60th anniversary of D-Day, on June 6, former soldiers break down in tears as they remember the screams of dying men who fell in their droves under German fire.

The soldiers from the Royal Ulster Rifles who risked their lives to liberate Europe from Hitler will recall the horrors they witnessed on the beaches of Normandy.
