Red Cross plea for funds

THE international Red Cross said yesterday it needs €150 million to fund its aid work worldwide next year.

Launching its annual appeal, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said much of the money is needed to help the world meet targets for cutting poverty and disease fixed at a UN-sponsored summit four years ago.
