THE Government’s plan for an €8.5 million development of the rail service was slammed for focusing too much on Dublin.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan was accused of ignoring the Government’s promises on regional development in the National Spatial Strategy by supporting the report.

The Strategic Rail Review says that priority should be given to maximising the capacity of existing InterCity and commuter routes.
