Prisoner review

A THREE-MEMBER panel of US military officers will annually review the case of each prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and recommend whether they can be freed, under a plan announced by the Pentagon.

Prisoner review

The reviews will determine whether prisoners, if released, would remain a threat to the United States, officials have said.

The prisoner would be allowed to defend himself. The military will assign an officer to serve as an “assistant” and spokesperson for the prisoner, the draft says.
