Druid has sword-bearing case dropped

A DRUID sword-bearer who was charged with possessing an offensive weapon after being stopped in a shop carrying his ceremonial weapon has had the case dropped by the English Crown Prosecution Service.

Merlin Michael Williams, aged 26, of Edgell Road, Westbourne, Emsworth, Hampshire, was arrested on Friday, July 9, after he was stopped by a security guard in a Portsmouth shop, with his sheathed 3ft ceremonial sword slung over his shoulder.
