Discovery may ‘turn off’ cancer

SCIENTISTS have found a way to turn off cancer with the flick of a gene switch.

Experiments with mice show that silencing just one cancer-causing gene can eliminate incurable liver tumours in only four weeks.

The findings are the first to suggest that cancer cells can be reformed and made healthy again.
