Red Cross assures on donations

THE Irish Red Cross has moved to assure the public that help is reaching victims of last week’s earthquake in Pakistan and the surrounding countries.

The chairman of the Irish Red Cross, David Andrews, commenting on concerns that international donations are falling short, said Irish people should know their donations would be used directly for supplying urgently needed shelter, medical aid and food to the victims.
