A HEARSE took a coffin to the gates of Downing Street yesterday as protesters called for greater British action to stop the killings in Darfur.

Survivors from Bosnia, Rwanda and Sudan presented a detailed dossier urging the British government to table a UN resolution giving the African Union mission in the Sudanese region the authority it needs to protect against genocide.

An estimated 400,000 people have been killed in the Darfur region in the last two years.
