NEW laws to protect consumers by cracking down on rogue traders were approved in the European Parliament yesterday.

MEPs in Strasbourg voted to establish a list of trading practices which are to be outlawed across Europe.

The Unfair Commercial Practices directive subject to approval from EU ministers would particularly target salesmen who mislead customers about their products.
