US police probe murder of aspiring Irish actor

UNITED STATES police have launched a murder investigation following the cold-blooded shooting of a Dublin man, who moved to Chicago six years ago to make his name as an actor.

Barry Cunnane, aged 27, was shot in the back of the head at close range as he walked near his apartment on Saturday last.

On Sunday, the dead man’s family flew to Chicago to make arrangements to have the body brought home for burial.
