EU draft health laws are a charter for cowboys, warns MEP
Under a draft law going through the parliament anyone will be able to establish a company in one EU country and apply that country’s standards and qualifications to hospitals, clinics and health services they operate in any other EU country.
In this way the laws and regulations on wages, number of staff to patients and professional qualifications that operate in Ireland could be ignored while the body responsible for overseeing the service would be that based in the country where the company was set up.
