The EU’s anti-fraud body, OLAF, is to investigate claims MEPs have been claiming expenses to which they are not entitled.

The 626 members can earn more than €200,000 a year from salary, expenses and allowances for attending the Parliament.

Allegations that some are claiming to employ family members as secretaries and that they sign on for Parliament sessions they do not attend will be investigated.
