Pensioner jailed for mugging

A PENSIONER mugger and his young accomplice were behind bars yesterday after being found guilty of robbing and seriously injuring an 82-year-old spinster.

The pair, who had staked out a local post office for likely victims, trailed the woman for a short distance before attacking her from behind and hurling her to the ground.

The fall shattered frail Patricia Holman’s hip and as she cried in pain one of her assailants snatched her handbag containing the pension she had just collected, London Southwark Crown Court was told.
