Bomber in fatal marines attack

A SUICIDE car bomber targeted a US military convoy in Fallujah, killing two Marines, a Pentagon spokesman said yesterday. Three marines and a sailor were missing.

Another 13 marines were wounded in last night’s attack, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said. Some women were among the casualties, he said.

The al-Qaida in Iraq group earlier claimed responsibility for the attack, saying six “crusaders” were killed and two Humvees were destroyed. The claim was posted on a website, but its authenticity could not be verified.
