Confusion surrounds hunter deaths

RELATIVES of a man being held in the deadly shooting of six deer hunters say they are just as stunned and bewildered by the incident as authorities investigating the case.

Charges had not been filed against 36-year-old Chai Vang, of St Paul, Minnesota, as of Monday night. Vang is accused of opening fire on several hunters Sunday with a semiautomatic assault rifle.

Killed were Robert Crotteau, aged 42; his son Joey, aged 20; Al Laski, aged 43; Mark Roidt, aged 28; Jessica Willers, aged 27 and Denny Drew, aged 55. Two others remain hospitalised with gunshot wounds.
