Porn on Jackson’s computer likely to be barred from trial

PORNOGRAPHY found on Michael Jackson’s computer is likely to be barred from his child molestation trial, it emerged yesterday.

The defence team asked Judge Rodney Melville at Santa Maria court, California, not to accept the material as evidence as it was not relevant.

Both Gavin Arvizo, who claims Jackson abused him, and his brother have told the court the pop star showed them adult sex websites at his Neverland ranch.

Prosecutor Gordon Auchincloss described the evidence as “powerful corroboration for our victim”. Found on four hard drives, it includes teen-themed adult material as well as images of children on adoption sites.

But the defence claims the evidence is irrelevant as much of it dates back to 1998, two years before Jackson even met the Arvizo family.

None of the erotic images are illegal to possess and there is no concrete proof that it was Jackson accessing the sites, the defence said.

“It’s heterosexual material and it is not directly related to the case,” said lawyer Robert Sanger.

“The issue of who accessed the material is totally unresolved.”

He said the value of the material would be “extremely weak”, not least because no one had actually downloaded the images to save them.

Judge Melville admitted he had severe reservations about the material being used, but reserved his final decision.

When the jury returned, several police witnesses took to the stand and the court was shown various pornographic magazines seized from Jackson’s bedroom.

Jackson arrived at court some 20 minutes early yesterday, dressed in a black suit.

He walked slowly but unaided, joking with his entourage and waving to fans as he made his way inside.

The 46-year-old denies molesting Gavin, then 13, plying him with alcohol and conspiring to hold him and his family captive. The trial continues.
