St Patrick’s Day party: orgy of drink and violence

ST PATRICK’S DAY celebrations descended into chaos after violent scenes marred celebrations across the country.

Gardaí made dozens of arrests following drunken brawls and a string of public order offences in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Mayo, Sligo and Kerry.

In one incident a pregnant woman was hospitalised after being she was punched in the stomach outside a city centre nightclub in Cork.
