Two out of three break speed limits

A new survey by the National Roads Authority reveals the number of drivers speeding on rural roads rose to 63% last year compared to just 8% in 2003.

It showed average speeds on non-national roads increased to 84km/h last year, despite a reduction in the speed limit from 96.5 km/h to 80 km/h in January 2005 as a result of the conversion to a metric system.
