Tourist's girlfriend insists she's telling truth

THE girlfriend of a backpacker allegedly murdered in Australia yesterday insisted she was telling the truth.

Questioned by the lawyer for alleged killer Bradley Murdoch, Joanne Lees also denied being prompted to identify him by an image she saw on a website.

And she dismissed a suggestion that she bumped into Murdoch as she shared a last meal with boyfriend Peter Falconio at the Red Rooster restaurant in Alice Springs on July 14, 2001, hours before the alleged attack.
