‘Hidden army’ of girls in forced labour

A “HIDDEN army” of more than 120,000 girls is being forced to work for armed groups involved in global conflicts, according to a charity report.

The youngsters - some as young as eight - have been abducted and end up as soldiers or doing domestic jobs but almost all are forced to serve as sex slaves, the Save the Children study found.

A spokesman for the organisation said the findings highlighted a worrying global trend and were not unique to one country or continent.
