Three men released without charge after terror probe
The trio, two aged 20 and one aged 26, were arrested by Gwent police yesterday following reports of suspicious activity in the Chepstow Road area of Newport.
Gwent Police said the men, who are all asylum seekers and from Newport, were released after extensive inquiries established no offence had been committed.
Armed officers swooped on the trio just a few miles from the Celtic Manor Hotel, where the high-level summit hosted by British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, will take place on September 1 and 2.
A hotel spokesman said the arrests were not made within the resort.
Residents said armed police were present when the arrests were made.
