Hospital gets off on the wrong foot

A BLACK woman who is to undergo a foot amputation was initially offered a white artificial replacement because they were cheaper, a hospital has admitted.

Ingrid Nicholls from Calcot near Reading, England, is yet to have the operation but health chiefs have now backed down and offered her prosthetics matching her own skin colour after she complained.

But the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) has branded the case ‘an absolute disgrace’.
