Jodie Marsh the first for Big Brother boot

GLAMOUR model Jodie Marsh last night lived up to bookmakers' predictions to become the first celebrity to be booted out of the Big Brother house.

The 27-year-old, who has complained of being bullied by her fellow housemates on the show, stepped out of the house to a mixed reaction.

She said afterwards: "The one thing I didn't want was to be first out or even first nominated. It's hideous."

Meanwhile, Ms Marsh's housemate George Galloway yesterday came under pressure from the British government chief whip to get back to work, saying his latest TV antics had made her "cringe".

Hilary Armstrong, the Labour MP for north-west Durham, began the petition urging Mr Galloway to "respect his constituents, not his ego" in his Bethnal Green and Bow constituency in east London.

Yesterday the Respect MP was pretending to be a cat, purring and licking imaginary milk from the hands of actress Rula Lenska as he missed the vote in the Commons on the Crossrail project which affects his voters.

Ms Armstrong said: "It made me cringe. I'm absolutely bemused that he decided to do something where he is uncontactable by the people he represents or works for."
